ISIS ORTIZ

SHE/HER/HERS

Professionally, Isis is a financial services and banking professional with 14+ years of credit risk, portfolio management and underwriting experience, and currently serves as a Vice President at Eastern Bank managing a commercial portfolio of over $500 million in credit exposure. She joined Eastern Bank in April 2021 as a Portfolio Manager in Commercial Banking. She supports clients across Eastern’s growing Security Alarm and Commercial & Industrial loan portfolios. Working closely with the sales and credit functions, Isis assesses clients' financial needs, develops, and implements financial strategies, manages credit risk, and provides tailored financial solutions to her clients.

In the community, she is an active leader and diversity, equity, and inclusion champion, strongly advocating for the education and financial literacy of students of color and the rights of women, BIPOC and those identifying as LGBTQ+. She is the proud President of the Boston chapter for the Association of Latino Professionals for America, the first and largest association of its kind serving over 100,000 members across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada; and she also serves as a board member of various community and non-profit organizations, all providing a platform to lead across civil rights and social action. Between her business and community involvement, Isis amplifies in many ways in the communities she serves.

Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and raised with significant Dominican influence, Isis considers herself a fierce “Puertominican” whose Hispanic heritage has played a significant role in how she shows up in every room.

Isis’ successful path to where she is has been one of continued growth, learning, and education. It has also been one with numerous challenges, despite her ability to rise up the corporate ladder in an industry with very few women of color, especially Latinas. In 2021, she co-authored her first book, Extraordinary Latinas (Volume 1), with eleven other extraordinary Latinas who through resilience, courage, and action have driven positive impact and opened the way for other Latinas and women to rise. In this book she discusses her journey to where she is today, dating back to her humble beginnings in Lawrence, MA - a city that taught her grit and hustle.
